The one about my hen weekend

For my hen weekend myself, and 10 of my nearest and dearest went to a absolutely stunning house in Somerset called Fuzzy Orchard.

We went for a weekend Friday-Monday in June (yes I know this blog post is very late!) We met at a local pub and all wore our hen do vest tops! we had lunch and then started travelling down to Wellington. We didn’t give it much thought that it was mid afternoon on a Friday and the M5 was at stand still so a 1.5 hour journey took us about 4 hours!

I booked the weekend though the company Sleeps 12 and would totally recommend having a look at their website if you are looking for a weekend away with a big group as they don’t only sleep 12, some houses sleep 18. Fuzzy Orchard was incredible, it had 6 twin rooms with beds that could be turned into doubles all with en suites. An indoor heated pool, sauna, outdoor hot tub and a BBQ lodge, complete with games room, huge kitchen and a huge table that you could all fit around. Also my two bridesmaids Meg and Georgia got there earlier than the rest of us and put decorations up as a surprise!

The photos on the website or the photos that I took do not do the house justice at all! Myself, mum, Meg, George and my Maid of Honour Imogen had come up with a bit of an itinerary for the weekend so that we were all on the same page.

This was roughly how our weekend went:

Friday –

Get there, pick rooms, unpack.
Buffet style tea – pizza, chips, garlic bread etc.
Test out the pool, hot tub etc
Chill out and have some drinks and play some games!

Saturday –

Prosecco breakfast
Chill out around the house playing games
Go to Zizzi’s for a meal
Go to Zinc night club in Taunton with VIP booth and drinks package (shittest service ever!)

Sunday –

Fry up for breakfast!
More chilling in the hot tub, pool, sauna.
Afternoon tea
Toasting marshmallows in the BBQ lodge

When we were in the BBQ lodge Meg presented me with a beautiful scrapbook that she had made, she asked all of my closest friends and family to write me letters and I cried about 5 times reading them all. The scrapbook has since become one of my most treasured possessions.

Thanks again Meggy for the amount of time and effort that you put into that scrapbook, you truly are amazing.

Also a big thank you to all of my family and friends for coming and sharing my hen weekend with me, I couldn’t think of better ladies to share my hen party with. You all mean so much to me and I am so grateful to you all for coming!

Please feel free to leave post links if you have ever been to a sleeps 12 house or a house very similar. I’d love to see the photos!

love kate x
